December 24th

It's the night before Christmas, and someone old is visiting the neighborhood!

It's Santa Claus!

It looks like his reindeer are off this year, because he's riding a magic train! So that's who the train cars belonged to. And that's why they were on the rooftops! It made it easier for Santa's flying engine to pick them up and take off into the sky. Merry Christmas, Santa!

Merry Christmas, Mayor Kurt and Kurt's girlfriend!

Kurt says Santa is lucky because he only has to work one day a year. Can you imagine that?

Merry Christmas, Mr. Banks and Fluffy (or is it Snowball?).

You're always so busy taking care of the neighborhood, I'm glad to see you can take your hat off and rest every once in a while.

Merry Christmas, Ex-Hippy Couple.

Wowowow, look at you go when nobody's looking! A handstand flip! Shredding on the handrail with just a bike helmet! Nobody in the neighborhood would ever believe it!

Merry Christmas, Fire Crew, Penny, and Brain.

Are you three still awake playing with that fire truck? Well keep it down, Penny and Brain are sleeping, and Santa knows if children are awake, so don't wake them up!

Merry Christmas, Pam, Alex, Erich and Jake!

This apartment has certainly grown more "lived in" since the start of the month! Now it's nice and cozy. Pam, stop fiddling with the tree! It's late, just leave it for tomorrow and get some sleep! Alex and Erich are already in dreamland. The window is open again, though, which can only mean...

Yep, snuck out again! Well, Merry Christmas, Heidi and John.

Don't stay out in the cold night air, especially on Christmas Eve! Surely tonight would be one of the nights John's parents expect him back at home. Don't worry, the neighborhood will still be here tomorrow morning!

Merry Christmas, Saleslady, Handyman, and Comptroller.

Having fun with the family is what the season is all about, but the same thing I said above goes for you guys too, don't stay out too late!

Merry Christmas to all...

...and to all...

... a good night.

December 23rd

Something new has arrived in the neighborhood!

It's Pam's Christmas tree!

It's too hard to get to a tree farm from Lego City without a car, so Pam ordered this artificial tree from the Grand Emporium years ago. She's been so busy with her children moving in, though, that she only just now found it and put it together!

The kids were so excited to see it, because it meant Christmas was truly on their doorstep. They went so far as to clean up the apartment, and line up neatly on the stairs to get a good view when their mother turns the lights on. The holiday season brings out the best behavior in children!

There she goes, putting on the finishing touches. The tree is simple, but beautiful. Mr. Banks insists Pam put it in the common stairwell area, so the entire neighborhood can enjoy it through the bay windows.

Sure enough, everyone is waiting outside. Maybe Mr. Banks counts on this every year, and that's why the Green Grocer doesn't have any other decorations. Just look, only two more days 'til the big day, and still no snow!

December 22nd

Something new has arrived in the neighborhood!

It's a toy police helicopter!

Penny's uncle the Fire Captain bought it for her! He knows she's a super sleuth, destined to be a great detective on the Lego City Police Force someday.

It's just what Penny wanted for Christmas! She was actually saving up her money to buy it herself. Plus, it really flies! It was too dangerous for a small child that might crash it into people or buildings, but now that Penny is old enough, her uncle thinks it's OK for her to fly it around.

Penny and Brain are going to mount a camera on the helicopter and investigate any suspicious activity in the neighborhood! Might be bad news for Mayor Kurt and his girlfriend who are always trying to sneak away, or John and Heidi who play in off-limits areas, but it also might help solve the mystery of who is putting the train cars on rooftops!

December 21st

Something new has appeared in the neighborhood!

It's a small yellow train car!

Another mysterious train car that's appeared on the rooftops of the neighborhood! What could they be for? What does it mean?

This one was discovered by John and Heidi. I don't think they're supposed to be up on the roof, but John has always liked adventure and I guess Heidi gets bored of playing with her younger brothers so she welcomes the chance to hang out with someone her own age.

Is this a joke someone is playing on the neighborhood people? Is someone hiding in the background, laughing? Or were they meant to be kept hidden and secret, up where nobody is supposed to go? Well, if they're someone's Christmas presents, we'll soon find out. Only three more days to go!

December 20th

Pam bought something new at the Grand Emporium!

It's a toy bulldozer!

Pam special ordered it shortly after she bought the crane, so Erich could play construction with Alex. Together they're going to build Lego City up to new heights!

For now, though, it looks like they're just practicing inside, pushing other toys around. You've got to start somewhere, I guess! Wait a minute, what's Heidi doing standing on the couch? Isn't it too cold to have the window open?

Oh, I see. John has brought her a gift! I guess he and Heidi became friends even after they crashed into each other on the street the other day! Well, Mr. Banks doesn't like it when people hold the fire escape ladder down by hanging stuff on it, so John better not get caught!

December 19th

Something new has appeared in the neighborhood!

It's a small red train car...

...but nobody knows whose it is or how it got here! The Handyman came up to the roof of the Grand Emporium this morning for a hot cocoa break from cleaning the carpet in the toy department (it's been really busy lately, hasn't it?) and he found the train car just sitting there!

He called up his sister the Saleslady, but it certainly wasn't hers, and they started to wonder just who was using their Emporium roof as a parking lot! They called Mr. Banks the alderman, so he could talk to the police and others at City Hall and find out if someone lost it.

Hmm... from the way they're hiding, it looks like Mayor Kurt and his girlfriend didn't expect such a crowd! I wonder what they were doing up on the roof so early in the morning? Anyway, they're both curious as to how the train car got there, too, so I guess it isn't theirs. Is there anyone else it could belong to? How about if everyone who saw it today keeps it a secret? Then, if anyone else in the neighborhood talks about it, it must mean they put it there, right?

December 18th

Someone new has arrived in the neighborhood!

EGADS! It's a naked old man!!

Did the warmth of the fireplace attract a homeless person? You can't just be naked outside! It's against the law! Now the neighborhood needs a police station!

I want to make sure all children know that when a naked stranger like this appears, run away!! It may look funny but he might be dangerous! Get to a safe place or find another adult!

Watch out coming out of that alleyway between the Fire Station and the Grand Emporium! You can't see what's around the corner until...

... it's too late.

*CRASH!*

This is the first traffic accident on this street in 80 years!

What a way to meet someone new in your neighborhood!

Uh oh... here comes Pam running. Looks like she's going to be pretty upset!

And now everyone's forgotten about that naked old man that started all this...
